Welcome to Vital Signs, the inaugural eZine of the AMITA Health Neurosciences Institute. We hope that you will find the enclosed articles and interviews of interest and helpful to your practice. Our Neurosciences Institute is celebrating its 15th year of providing neurological expertise to our colleague physicians and their patients in the greater Chicago region — including northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. If you are a physician currently collaborating with our institute, we appreciate the opportunity to highlight some updates and newer programs the institute offers. If you are not familiar with the AMITA Health Neurosciences Institute, we hope that this will serve as an introduction.
The AMITA Health Neurosciences Institute is a collaborative group of experienced, specialized healthcare providers working closely together to provide all aspects of neurological, neurosurgical, neuropsychological and neurointerventional care to your patients. Our specialists are experienced and utilize the most current evidence-based practices, techniques and technologies.
The AMITA Health Neurosciences Institute has been formally recognized as a high-enrolling site into National Institute of Health clinical trials and also participates in a wide range of industry-sponsored medical, device and outcomes trials. The providers at the AMITA Health Neurosciences Institute have written hundreds of publications in peer-reviewed literature, including JAMA, Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine and Stroke. The AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Comprehensive Stroke Center was the second Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in the state, and the first in the greater Chicago region.
